Lazy man Spaghetti

just like what the title suggest, we decided to make a quick meal instead of the usual oh-so-elaborate meal.

IMAG0033

ingredients are as follows:

1. pasta

2. chopped hotdogs (it is a lazy man’s spagghetti, hence the hotdogs instead of the usual minced meat)

3. 1 can of Prego Tomato + 1 can of Prego Mushroom

4. Tom yam paste (yeah, i got bored of the usual white sauce + red sauce combination)

5. Garlic + mixed herbs + other seasonings

and oh, from the photo above, i guess it’s time to change the water filter…

as usual, cook the pasta, stir fry the hot dogs, add in the sauce, the seasonings, some water and lastly let it simmer.

the end result?

this :-

because the tom yam paste was added, there will be slight sourish tom yam taste in the pasta dish. it will definitely not spicy, no matter how much paste you dunk into the sauce. just that it will be more sour the more you put it.

and all done in 30 minutes. not bad for a lazy man’s spaghetti, huh?

Stir-fry bolognaise pasta – 1st attempt

we got bored of the usual cook-the-noodle-and-sauce-separately. and after tried stir-fried spaghetti several times for breakfast, we decided to tried it ourselves.

as usual, the ingredients :-

IMG_6168 Decided to use Fettuccine instead of Spaghetti

IMG_6172 lazy people ingredient #1 – ready made beef balls

IMG_6167  lazy people ingredient #2 – canned Prego sauce and mixed herbs

and also our unsung hero ie, garlic and other seasonings. haha!

IMG_6174  1st things 1st, fry the balls (balls??? hahaha!) till they are 80% cook.

IMG_6177 next, cook the pasta till al-dente.

IMG_6179 mix in the sauce, balls and oter seasonings and sir-fry it for a while.

IMG_6181 Voila!!! the end result. the presentation was crappy though. haha!

how does it differ from the ones we always cook? taste is ok, but not without the following flaws :-

1. it was a tad too dry although you may think otherwise based on the photo above

2. the beef balls lack taste other than the beefy taste as there aren’t any seasoning or marinade in it. next time we will use ground meat instead.

3. we did not get the taste that we wanted

and the final verdict? i would give it 5 out of 10. just passed.

time to spy the cooks on the spaghetti stall again!
