after one whole day of visiting temples and ruins, seeing another temple makes us dizzy. haha!
this post will be totally about our small excursion in Siem Reap Centre and the food!!!
not all was done on the same day though!
one food that aroused our curiosity is this
what’s that???
it’s actually a french loaf with different condiments. simple but it’s a cheap comfort food the above is the one we got from roadside stall.
one from our hotel. each place offers different condiments, but the main thing will be minced meat, ham, pickled cucumber and chillies. put everything into the bread, and then you gobble it up! oh yum!
same thing cannot be said for it’s noodle.
why lah they use instant noodles??? it’s like going to mamak stall.
maybe we just don’t know where to find a good noodle dish.
enough about that, let’s go to the town!
not enough cash while shopping around the town area? fret not, for there are 3 major Malaysian bank in the town!
just make sure you have their account AND enough money in that account though. haha!
although Cambodia has the same climate as Malaysia, the heat can sometimes be unbearable! that’s why an ice cream joint can be a blessing!
the blessing come under the name of The Blue Pumpkin
the best thing is that you get to lie on their sofa bed while indulging the ice cream. free Wi-Fi is provided too. in fact, you can almost find free Wi-Fi services everywhere in Siem Reap. nice…
not knowing what to have for lunch, we just refer to our trusty Lonely Planet.
it seems that Amok is the recommended place for lunch.
food looks nice . but taste normal to me though.
hmm… sorbet… mango, coconut and i-forgot-what sorbet. haha!
nothing much to do thereafter? walk to the Old Market then (Psar Chaa). it’s just like any other old market though.
clothes, bags, handicrafts
spices and nuts
and of course meat and vegetables. it’s a market, remember?
still feel hot after a day? get this :-
ok, go and buy Coke if you can’t tolerate alcohol.
remember to stay in the town area long for it’s Pub Street
or their never ending night market
Happy Herb Pizza. it is said that they have marijuana as one of the ingredient.but i did not try it though. maybe next time.
on our last night in the country, we decided to splurge a bit and have a nice dinner at FCC Angkor. did not really took much photo there. but you can go the their website here.
busy night they have.
turns out the food is so-so. and same goes to the service too. there goes our special dinner plan.
all in all, it was a good trip. i would like to go again. maybe to Phnom Pneh next time. sounds like a good plan?
*i can’t believe it took me a year to conclude this post. laziness had taken me over completely! i hope the next post will not be this long.
