hungry and what to eat??!!

this is what a bachelor cook for themselves when you are given a limited ingredient and cooking utensils...

1. fried an egg

2. steamed chinese sausage with ginger wine

3. cook plain rice

3. dump item #2 (together will all the goil and wine) into the rice cooker once the rice are almost done

4. add more ginger wine in the rice and let it cool down for a few minutes. mix well and serve

there goes my simple 'lap mei fan'. it would be better if there is waxed duck as well!

in case you are wondering what is that black liquid, it is actually Marmite soup. haha! but i prefer Bovril more though.

“Reunion Dinner” 2010

Notice that quotation marks in the word Reunion Dinner?

that’s because i there are only two people in the Dinner – GF and i.

that is quite normal for me coz i will be alone on eve and the 1st day of CNY as everyone had went elsewhere during that period of time. as for me, i will be going out only on 2nd day.

well, after a hiatus of more than a month, i guess i have to find something to blog so that this blog will remain active. haha!

since, no one is going to cook, the great chef aka GF will orchestrate the dinner for two.

from these ingredients, i think you will know what is the meals last night:

which, magically become these :

IMG_5057 lotus root and peanut soup

IMG_5049 lettuce cooked with garlic and oyster sauce

IMG_5055 pork marinated with HP Sauce

we decided to omit fish these year as previous years’ of experience told us not to cook it again. yes, we suck at cooking fish. haha!

and once the table has been laid, feast your eyes on our reunion meal!!!

looks a bit too much for a dinner for two, right? nah… we managed to finish it. but there’s still some soup though.

and wait, before you mention that we did not cook curry chicken (top left) earlier, let me tell you. yes, we did not cook those. it was leftover from the lunch. haha!

dinner will be served with 100plus and beer. CNY is not complete with 100plus. as for beer… not really for me. i don’t really drink. that carlsberg is only for garnishing. i did not really drink it until 4 hours after the dinner. haha!

we end the dinner with dessert which is dragonfruit. not very sweet though. a bit of sour to me.

and with the dinner, we ended the year of Ox with a prosperous tummy!!!

anyway…

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR AND I WISH YOU ALL A GREAT AND ROARING YEAR AHEAD!!!!! ROAR~~~

p/s: pig, thanks for cooking the pre-CNY dinner for me for the past 3 years!

This is a Thank You post to my sweetheart.
Due to very very low budget for V'day, I'm not able to get any expensive gift for him. Therefore, I'm going to post this "thank you" note in our blog to appreciate everything that he had done for me for the past 2175 days that we have been together.

2. Thank you for getting me a GPS just because my new job needs me to travel and I'm very bad in getting around KL route.

3. Thanks for saving so hard to get us an apartment when i say it's time for us to get ourselves a home.

4. Thanks for making sure that i always have enough money to spend monthly even though you know that I'm very good at over spending .. hehe ;p

5. Thank you for accepting me for who I am when everyone else saw my "defect".

6. Thank you for supporting my decisions all the time.

7. Thanks for always reminding me how "perfect and beautiful" i am although sometimes i know im not.

8. Thanks for walking with me all this while to face my life challenge.

9. Thanks for consoling & encouraging me in times when i think that God has gave up on me.
