London work and play! (01.07.11 – 10.07.11) – Part 4

This is the final post of my working trip!

We left Norwich on Friday morning to go back to London and spend the weekend there before taking the flight back to Malaysia on Saturday.

This time is the same, we went around London with the Original Bus tour since it’s the most convenient way. On this trip, we stayed is another hotel at the other side of the town. I can’t really recall the name of the hotel but I think it has something to do with Thistle. Haha.

Some cam-whoring inside the hotel room.

Our hotel is just a walking distance from the British Museum. I think it’s free to go in, but we decided not to go in because we did not want to waste time. Haha… too little time too much to see in London.

clip_image006

clip_image008

Ice-cream or crepes anyone? Both this vehicles are parked in the compound of the British Museum. As much as I wish to buy that ice-cream… but the weather is too cold for me. It has been raining every now and then during our second trip to London. You might notice that there is no sunlight in most of my pics.

clip_image010

The Russell is one of the famous hotel in London. Did not get to stay there, so only took a pic of it then the bus passed by the hotel.

clip_image014

London telephone booth. I don’t think anyone even uses it now. Haha

Next, we got down from the bus at St.Paul’s Cathedral stop to have a closer look of the area there.

And oh!! I was also busy going in to every sports shop in Norwich and London because I wanted to get football jerseys for badmonkey. Visited JJB Sports in Norwich to get him both England & Man Utd Jersey. Then again saw a sport shop on sale when we got down to visit St Paul’s Cathedral. And managed to buy a blue color MU shirt. But silly me. MU never had a blue color jersey! I bought BadMonkey a MU training shirt by mistake!! Wahahahha!!!

clip_image020clip_image022

Can’t really post any pics on the interior of St.Paul’s Cathedral because photograph is prohibited in the church- took some pic before I was told that pictures are not allowed in the cathedral. I did not really pay the admission fee and visit the inside of the church because in my opinion £14.50 per person is expensive. Although my company is the one that will be paying in the end lah.

clip_image024

Still at St.Paul’s Cathedral area.

We had our lunch in an Italian Restaurant just the opposite of St Paul’s Cathedral. And I still miss the taste of the pizza and pasta that we had there….. below is the picture of the 2 dish that we ordered. Pardon me for not remembering what are both the dish called. I just remembered that the pizza is just cheese and vegetables. No meat. And the pasta was served with some smoked turkey or something like that. Yummy! Yummy!!

Our next stop was the Tower Bridge.

clip_image030

clip_image032

clip_image034clip_image036clip_image038

And just beside the Tower Bridge is the Tower of London (now you know how the bridge got it’s name!). The Crown Jewels is placed here. again. Need ££ to visit the Tower of London and again we decided to skip it. hahaha.. we are trying to save some money for our company.

Next stop, Buckingham Palace!! How could someone not taking picture at the gate of the Buckingham palace when you are in London??!! LOL!!!

clip_image044

There you go, mission accomplished!! LOL!!

clip_image046clip_image048

This is Victoria Memorial. It is placed at the centre of Queens Garden in front of the Buckingham Palace and is dedicated to Queen Victoria. Oh!! Look at the sky!!!

We decided to go back to our hotel and freshen up before walking to Chinatown. But… we missed the last Original Tour bus going back to our hotel area. So we had to take a public bus instead.

clip_image050

It is not really a very far distance ride. I still remembered that the bus ticker for each of us cost £2.20. We have to buy a ticket before getting onto the bus.

Chinatown is just a few more streets away from our hotel. so we just walked there. The first thing we saw once we are 1 street away from our hotel is this…

clip_image052

Yup.. I think it’s a fire. Don’t dare to go close as I still want to go home!! Haha… and also because Chinatown is not towards that street either.

clip_image054

Yay! Reached Chinatown.

clip_image056

Newspaper anyone? I think it’s free…

clip_image058

So crowded… but actually it’s only 1 street and that’s it.

clip_image060

Since not much to see here, we decided to have our dinner at one of the restaurant here. Why am I not surprise, the food here sucks big big time!!! I thought it will at least easy to my mouth since those shops owned by Chinese from China and Hong Kong because they speak Cantonese to each other. But I think I forgot one point that since their customers are mostly ‘guai lous’ who don’t really know how the original food taste like, so the cooks don’t really need to be able to cook tasty /original taste food!! And… because both of us are not ‘guai lou’ or even close.. we did not get good service from the waiters!!! Screw you china men!!!! No offence to those good man out there ya!!

Took this pic on our way back to the hotel..

clip_image062

Nice? One of the theatres when it’s all lit up at night.

On our last day, before we go to the airport, we decided to walk around the streets near our hotel.

clip_image002[4]

I remembered this street have all the branded shops. MNG, ZARA, so on and so forth.

clip_image004[4]

Policeman riding on a horse!!

After the walk.. we went back to the hotel to get a cab to the Liverpool street station. Need to board the Stansted Express to the airport!

clip_image006[4]

In the train.. can’t wait to go home. But I’m sure not anticipating the 13 hours plane ride though!! Hate that!!

clip_image008[4]

One of my meal on the plane. J

After 13 freaking hours of plane ride, I’m back in Malaysia!! Woohoo!!!!

London work and play! (01.07.11 – 10.07.11) – Part 3

Train is our daily transportation to go to the office.

clip_image002

we will need to take the train from Norwich to Wroxham every morning to go to the office.

clip_image004

I know I know, the train look old right? But the interior look a lot more better and clean and comfortable than our KTM.. haha…

A train ride for 5 to 6 stop cost approx. £3.50 actually. Personally, I think it’s expensive. But the punctually of the train is superb! It reaches on the dot of the time written on the printed schedule!

From Monday till Thursday, we had to report to work for the training. so we did not really visit anyway. or maybe nothing much to see in Wroxham.

but…near our hotel, there is a ‘happening’ place called as the Norwich Riverside. There is an Imax theatre and some fancy restaurants. I think that is the only cinema is Norwich.

clip_image006

Above are the shops leading to the river side. We came to this place because I wanted to go to a sport shop located at the other side of the river to buy some football jersey for badmonkey.

Just at the opposite road of our hotel, there is a pizza restaurant. We tried that on our second night there. The shop name is Prezzo. They serve very delicious pizza.

clip_image008

clip_image010

Two of us can’t finish the two dish. But we saw a lady sitting beside us managed to finish a whole pizza that big all by herself.

During our stay in Norwich, our colleague took us for a few hours tour around Norwich town, some of the places we visited was Norwich Cathedral, Norwich market..

clip_image012clip_image014clip_image016

Guess what I saw at the market?

clip_image018

clip_image020

clip_image022

Do you notice what’s the difference of the white house in this picture? The bottom part of the house is smaller than the top part of the house. I also heard tat there is ghost story about this house. Don’t ask me what’s the story about… haha.. coz I don’t know either.

There is a bar in Norwich serves very nice food. We had one of our dinner there. As usual dinner served with Champagne. But to be frank.. I keep drinking wine or champagne every time I’m offered some. Reason is the Summer weather is still cold for me. Haha.. Drinking alcohol helps to keep my body warm. Haha.. what a good excuse to drink!! Hehehhehe

Spoons on the wall as decoration?

clip_image032

Nice chandelier….

One of the streets in Norwich town.

clip_image036

£0.55 for a pack of cherries!! So cheap!!! Can I have cherries as our local fruit?? Cheaper than a comb of bananas here in Malaysia leh!!

Norwich trips stops here. We will be taking a train back to London tomorrow morning to continue our London trip. I’m gonna miss this quiet town.
