Bukit Gambang Water Park (30.08.09 – 31.08.09)

since this is a 2 day 1 night trip, i’m going to post everything in one post. are you ready to read? don’t fall asleep!

yes, as there was an extra holiday on Monday due to Merdeka celebrations, mom had suggested that we go to Bukit Gambang Water Park.

Bukit what???!!!!

never heard of that place before. does such a place exist in the first place?

a search on Google doesn’t seem to give any positive feedback as there were blogs giving negative feedbacks of it.

going to an obscure place with negative feedbacks seems like a disaster in the making. plus, i’ve never liked going to vacations with my mom as i felt restrained.

but i decided to follow suit this time (together with GF) as it’s been years since i went to one with the family.

and so we go on a two and a half hour journey to the unknown trail. at the end of the journey, GF and i were left with sore legs…

the back seat of Honda Stream is not made for people with long legs…

fyi, sis bought a promotion package for 4 person earlier (which includes accommodation + water park tickets + breakfast + dinner) for i dunno-how-much as i’ only paying for me and GF. haha!

the place turns out to be very new. hence, it was clean. the staff were very friendly too.

a quick view of the place, it looks like apartments for universities, right? haha!

IMG_4268

IMG_4265

the apartment is very spacious though. nice and clean. overall it is A ok, except for the mini bar in which they took an hour to change it. and that was after my sis made 3 phone calls to the receptionist!

IMG_4212 IMG_4213

contrary to what i thought, there were a lot of people coming here and mostly from KL/Selangor area based on the car plate i saw in the parking.

since there were a lot of people there, we did not get an apartment with a nice view. instead, we got this view…

IMG_4214 IMG_4263 IMG_4264

aiks, a lorry… lucky it was not a working day. else, we will see a lot of construction workers there. haha!

after a quick lunch, off we go to the water park. woo hoo!!!

IMG_4215

the park is still developing actually…

IMG_4216

no outside food are allowed. but the is a cafe though.

IMG_4257

for those who are lazy to walk, there are rides to the park too. but be prepared to pay RM2…

IMG_4256

this is the wave pool. just like the one in Sunway Lagoon, there will be a period of waves and non-waves in that pool.

IMG_4244

the water is not murky. it’s just that the bottom of the pool is brownish that makes it look murky. so, no worries about it.

IMG_4245

cam-whoring. haha…

IMG_4247

at the corner of the park, there are slides for those who crave for adrenalin rush too. did not tried it coz… yes, i’m a scaredy cat. haha!

IMG_4249

and also slides for the whole family.

IMG_4254

not sure what it is as it is still under construction.

IMG_4252

slides for the kiddies

IMG_4241

this is one of the pools where you laze around and just let the wave take its course

IMG_4242

aiks, abit of an eyesore…

IMG_4258

spend most of our time lazing here coz GF does not like all those water games. no complaints from me as i’m enjoying feasting my eyes on the girls though. haha!

IMG_4239

and of course, this is the one place that everyone seems to like:

IMG_4217

see the crowd surrounding the area? you wonder what are they looking/waiting for?

IMG_4259

ah… this is why. the big piranha will collect water from the pipes. and after a while (around 5 mins. it’s a big piranha, you know), the water will come splashing down, drenching everyone in sight. fun~~~

IMG_4223

that’s me, oblivious to the ‘danger’ behind me. this is the smaller piranha.

mom had spend quite some time there too, saying that it is like having massage on her head. haha!

IMG_4233

Chun before getting swallowed by the water~~~

IMG_4231

don’t ask my what were my sis and her family doing there…

IMG_4229

GF and Chun the Lalat Boy~~~ IMG_4238

Lalat Boy learning to swim

IMG_4225

at the end of the day, we were dark and some of us got sun burnt coz GF left the sun tan in the apartment.IMG_4255

buffet dinner starts from 5pm to 9pm. since Chun, GF and i were not included in the package, we have to pay RM38 for each adults and RM18 for kids.

which in my humble opinion is not worth it!!!!! so little selection plus they did not provide enough food for the buffet. didn’t they anticipate this on a school holiday? aiks…

nite time at Bukit Gambang can be quite boring. nothing much there. there’s an arcade with old games and also a mini karaoke where you put one token for a song…

after dinner, there is a movie screening though. watched Rush Hour for an hour and then sneaked out to sit somewhere else to catch a fresh air.

after the movie, there is a magic show too. but we went back to our room already. since it’s Merdeka eve that night, there was a fireworks display when the clock strikes 12am.

but i passed out way before that. was too tired… in fact i even sleepwalk (or rather sleeptalk) on that night. GF told me that i woke her up at night and told her something undecipherable while pointing at the air-con.

did not went for breakfast in the Cafe on the next morning due to the bad experience the previous night but it seems that the breakfast was better, from what i heard from mom and sis.

upon checking out, we hit the road back to KL. in between the journey, wanted to buy petai and fruits from the roadside stalls. but contrary to what we thought, those stall are selling it more expensive than in KL. and they have this bad take-it-or-leave-it attitude. sheesh!

stopped over at the Karak town only to find a treasure there in a form of a Yik Kee Restaurant. i’m not going to blog what we had there though, but the food they serve is big and inexpensive.

din take much photos while i was there but i did took some photos of its specialty – DURIAN BOMBS!!!

IMG_4274

but once it detonates… BOOM!!! the durian filling melts in your mouth

IMG_4273

they also sell egg tarts and durian tarts. egg tarts are nice, but the durian tarts, ok ok lah…

IMG_4277

IMG_4275

and also kaya swiss roll. unlike the normal swiss roll you buy, they are very generous with the filling. the kaya are literally flowing out of the roll!!! no more dry swiss roll. yummy!!!

IMG_4271

and oh, the photos of the food might seem unappetizing but it was due to my photo shooting skills though.

and just like most restaurants which are popular and full with people, be prepared to get fired by some of the unfriendly staff.

one more thing too. never buy any dumplings from them. it might seem huge and it was stated that there were lots of fillings, but in reality, they are the lousiest dumplings i’ve ever tasted. not worth the RM8. there’s still one sitting in my fridge till now.

i think they wanted to cash in the fame they are getting. trying to sell as much food they can think of. don’t be fooled. not everything they served is good…

want to try it but too lazy to drive to karak? fret not, they have various Branches even in PJ area! please refer to the photo below:

IMG_4270

and that sums up our short trip to Bukit Gambang! but it was a long wordy post indeed!

Of arguments and fights…

yes, the above is unavoidable between couple/spouses (or between friends, families, business partners, etc etc). that applies for us too.

which got me thinking, when we are involved in an argument, how will we be reacting? is it:

1. The Cold War

cold-war

there will be no talking between each other. unless really really really needed. no apologies, will not even voice out even when a nine inch nail are stuck in your eye balls. more talking will only generate more arguments.

like the Cold War between US and Soviet Union, both sides are keeping ammunitions and threaten to blast each others asses off if there’s any movement.

there will be lots of spying on each other (whether to see if the other half is doing ok or otherwise).

you will be waiting for the other half to apologize or fly the white flag. if there’s a party who is willing to let of of his/her ego and surrender, good. the war has ended.

if not, good luck~~~

2. Epic fights

ali - frazier

forget about keeping ammunitions and all that. it’s time to fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee (to quote from Muhammad Ali).

tyson_hollyfield

in fact, feel free to bite of your partners ears off (or any part that your teeth can reach) if you are the losing side.

diplomacy does not exist in this kind of arguments. the moment it started, expect bruises, blood or even bits of flesh!

in my opinion, if it gets to this level, this relationship will not last long (if at all)…

3. Barking dogs never bite

barkingdogsneverbite

this will be the complete opposite of the Cold War. in this kind of argument, all kinds of fact/fiction will be blurted or screamed out, whether intentionally or not.

in some extreme case, there will be some explicit coming out too. no joke, i’ve seen my grandmother saying it to my grandfather!!! that was eye opening experience for me. not to mention ear-opening as well.

i think this type of argument is very common among those who had been together for quite some time. this is very prevalent especially among eldery.

it is a quite-safe type of argument (in my opinion) but if left uncontrolled, it will definitely lead to Epic Fight…

4. Monkey See Monkey Do…

MonkeyseeMonkeyDowinner

this does not even qualify as an argument in the first place. more like a revenge. and i think only females will do it.

“you sleep with other girls, i will sleep with other guys”. fair play…

no physical or word fights are involved. maybe you will be greeted with smiles too!!!

this kind of fight is bad coz people will not know what had went wrong though…

5. let’s break up…

heart-break-up

ah… the dreaded word that some seemed to say it out when the argument is petty.

in my opinion, there are some thing that you should not say it, regardless of whether you are furious or not.

not to worry, their wish will come true soon enough when they say it often…

that’s all that i’m going to list down. i can’t think and am too lazy to think of more. anymore that you can list down?

or more importantly, which type are you?

homemade cupcakes

my GF will throw me into the oven and bake me till i am 99% burnt if i don’t blog about this.

yes. cupcakes. it’s the latest craze that my GF is into right now. spent countless of hours searching through the web and book stores finding the right recipes and the perfect measurement and also lots of trial and error in the process of making it.

as usual, the laziness in me will try not to type much word in the blog and post pictures instead. after all a picture is worth a thousand words, right? feast your eyes on our experiment (and don’t salivate on your keyboard!!!):

IMG_4001

one set that we managed to made. boy, those icing sure melt fast once they are left in room temperature.

DSC00447

IMG_3995

can you see they are beginning to melt?

DSC00454

IMG_3997

IMG_3996with chocolate chips

IMG_3993actually this face is an accident. the yellow icing was supposed to cover round the cupcakes. but it ran out halfway. but my quick thinking GF got an idea and made this face instead. smart!!!

IMG_4006even i can’t resist kissing ‘her’. how can i eat ‘her’?! lol!!!

the above was the first time. not exactly the first time making cupcakes. just the first time making it with decorative icing. the ones below are the second time doing it:

IMG_4059before baking…

IMG_4062in process…

IMG_4061voila!!! fresh from the oven!

IMG_4063this is the result after applying the icing

to be frank, the icing that we put in this time is not as smooth as our previous batch as the cupcakes rose higher that the cups itself. that made it harder for us to smoothen the surface.

hence, you can see the uneven surface on the cupcakes as shown in several photos below:

IMG_4071 can you see what is written there? it was meant for Chun’s birthday.

IMG_4070another obvious uneven surface…

but of course, there are also a few nice ones (if you know how to cover it. hehe!). these are some that i like:

IMG_4072 IMG_4066

IMG_4069

IMG_4067except for the above. the above is my attempt in decorating a cupcake. needless to say, it is an Epic Phail!!! haha!

that’s all for the cupcakes presentation.

and oh, better watch out the electrical bills too. too much baking causes the bills to spike up!!!

and oh… for heaven’s sake, please wipe off those saliva from your keyboard! lol!

help...

all the haze and the AH1N1 pandemic is driving us all crazy.

mask are being distributed in the company and to some extend, some companies are even providing thermometers to the staff.

yeah right. as if we would wear it. well i did, at least for 5 minutes...

after that, the mask is now sitting somewhere in my drawer waiting to be tossed into the dustbin.

the bad thing is, now i'm down with flu as well. started with a horrible sore throat in the morning. what ensues is runny nose.

there's no fever. so there are no H1N1 infection, i guess...

went to see doctor and got my med. immediately after that, i got cough. damn!!!

i hope i will get over this soon...
