London work and play! (01.07.11 – 10.07.11) - Part 2

The next day, we checked out and left our bags on with the Hotel Concierge after breakfast because we will be taking the London bus for sight-seeing before going back to Norwich.
While waiting for the UK colleagues to get down to the lobby, me and my KL colleague had some cam-whoring time. LOL.

This is located at the opposite of our Hotel entrance. It’s actually one of the side entrances of the Buckingham Palace. :)

Hmm… where to now?
clip_image008
It’s sight-seeing time. I totally forgot how much it cost for a full day pass to ride this tour. Earphone is provided for all the passenger of the ride. Because of this…

You may choose the language that you prefer to listen for the ‘guided’ sight-seeing ride. A route map of The Original Tour bus will also be given to us to inform us on the route that the bus will be using and where we can hop on and off the bus. Actually, the bus sight-seeing is for us to familiarise ourselves with London and to decide where we want to visit during our second trip back to London which is the next weekend. It’s Cam-whoring time again!!

This is the Marble Arch. Don’t ask me the history of this as I have no idea. Too many landmarks all around London with historical meaning. Can’t remember most of them. hehe..
clip_image014
Really wanted to visit Madame Tussauds but the crowd is always huge.
clip_image016
Piccadilly Circus anyone?
clip_image018
The Trafalgar square – they have started to count down for the London Olympic Games 2012 with the digital clock placed there.

The Westminster Underground Station
clip_image022
This is where Prince Charles & Princess Kate got married! The Westminster’s Abbey
clip_image024
The Big Ben and the house of Parliament
All the above pictures were taken when we are on the bus. Our first stop and getting down of the bus was to get the London Eye ride. J

This is the London Bridge. View from the London Eye capsule.

River Thames Cruise. This cruise ride comes in free of charge with the purchase of The Original Bus tour. We did not ride the cruise because of the crowd.

St. Paul Cathedral’s view from the bus.

Still at St Paul’s Cathedral

And the above beautiful bridge is actually called as the Tower Bridge and not the London Bridge. People tend to think that this is the London Bridge because it is a lot more magnificent and the London Bridge. Note that the military ship on the right side of the picture is actually a Museum (If my memory serves me right!).
clip_image044
More Tower Bridge’s picture as the bus is moving on the bridge.
clip_image046
Another crowded place. People willing to pay to get ‘heart attack’ at the London Dungeon!!
clip_image048
as the bus was turning to another street, I managed to get a closer shot of the Parliament house! J
And oh!! I have no idea why, but seems like if you are in London, then it’s a must for you to visit the Harrods! And so we did! LOL!!

The interior (ceiling) of Harrods.

Another ceiling

Mini balcony which are located beside the escalators. I even saw an opera singer singing her heart out. Entertaining the customer that is travelling on the escalator. Sorry, did not manage to get a pic of her singing though!
clip_image056
Even the back of the escalator have designs!
After window shopping at the Harrods, we took a cab back to the hotel to collect our bags and took the express train back to Stansted and drove back to Norwich as we will be staying in Norwich for the week. The office is a short train ride from Norwich town. It’s the end for the first part of London trip.
We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant before going back to our own room to rest for the day.

Pic above is the view from my room window, just beside Norwich’s main river. The other side of the river is actually the Norwich train station! How convenient!
