Sin Yee Kee Beef Noodles

we decided to stop over at Seremban for our brunch before continuing our way to Port Dickson last week.

there’s only one thing in our mind and that is :

yes, beef noodles. that is what Seremban is famous for. since everyone seems to talk about this beef noodle stall in Seremban pasar, decided to give it a try.

i think the one that i order is sweet sauce beef noodles. there’s no beef balls here but there a slices of beef strips. the gravy is very thick, thicker than ‘loh mee’ gravy. and surprisingly, they peanuts in the noodles as well, giving it a crunchy texture to the noodles. I've never tasted beef noodles with this kind of gravy, so i can’t make any comparison. but it does take time to get used to this kind of gravy as i can’t seem to decipher some of the taste in it…

as for GF, it is beef ball noodles for her. she omitted the tripe though. ouch, she should have leave it for me! she said the beefy taste is very strong. but for me it taste ok for me. beef noodles have strong beefy taste anyway. another thing different is that they put in ‘ham choy’ (is it called salted vege or preserved vege in English?) in their soup, giving it a slight pickle taste. as for their beef balls? top notch! springy and crunchy!

and do you notice one more thing different between the normal beef noodles and the one we had? it uses ‘lai fun’. the same noodles people use for asam laksa. looks special, but for me, it kind of lose out as there’s not much texture.

price for each serving is RM5, which is kind of pricey for Seremban. but if it is good (the beef ball noodles is GOOD!), it is worth the price (and also the drive).

so go on and taste for yourself. Sin Yee Kee is located in Pasar Besar Seremban. stall no. 748.
